5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang Technical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.

Should I or shouldnt I?

Very possible. I have seen them with the block compeltly split in 2. It just takes some hp to do it. You prolly don't have enough. The most you will do with a stock 302 is spin some bearings, bend valves, and MAYBE throw a rod. Throw on a 300 shot of nitrous and see what happens lol.

Yeah, my GT just put the wrap on 300k miles, and still runs nicely, but is burning a little coolant and oil. Stoopid head gaskets. On the new motor, what are the best gaskets to throw in there so I don't have to worry about them for another 300k?
