1991 mustang 5.0 help overheating problem
Hi i have a 1991 mustang 5.0 thats having a little overheating problem it. So when im driving on the city the gauge gets about 2 more lanes than half way when im driving on the freeway it gets stays at halfway and does not overheat. I jus recently did the 90k service it i changed the timing chain water pump and i also changed the thermostat 180. The raidiator is about a year old i changed it when i was having overheating problems before so i dont think its the raidiator any ideas or help will be appriciated PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! THANKS and i have already flushed the raidiator so i dont think its the raidiator

Here is the thing about flushing a radiator, sometimes all the crud that you loosened up in the rad breaks loose and gets caught in the heater core. If you flushed the rad with just water then its probably no big this, but if you used one of those chemical flushes you may have gummed something up. Also, under the category of keep it simple, have you changed the water temp sensor? Sometimes as they go they will give a funny reading. If the car is not burping fluid it may be just the sender.

thanks for all the responses ok so i forgot to mention that i bypassed the heater core because it was leaking. and how do i find out if i have any air pockets it does have coolant and how do i know if its the fan clutch or how do i check the water temperature sensor like u guys said please let me know thannks
