Ok so I need your help with my transmission. About 6 months ago I blew up 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. I power shifted to third and she blew up. Took it in to the trans shop and he rebuilt it. I picked it up and it was grinding when I put it in reverse. So we put in a new clutch, new flywheel, new clutch cable, new throw out bearing. It still does the same thing. So he’s like let try another trans same thing. When I push the clutch in and put it in reverse it grinds but if I wait 10-15 seconds its fine. Please help its driving me crazy and the shop guy. Thanks for all your help

that is perfectly normal on a t-5

reverse gear has no synchro. try this, push in the clutch put the car into 5th gear, then pull it straight back into reverse that will prevent grinding and you won't have to wait so long to put it in gear...

That might work. The thing is I dont understand is that it never did it till I got the new one.

no tellin mine does it i just go from second to reverse goes fine with no grind

even though reverse is not synchronized it still should not take that long....either way put it in 1st first then go to reverse
