Default Engine won't turn over

I just got done with a engine swap. Putting a 87 motor in my 84 gt, put a new fuel pump, and everything seems to be correctly hooked up. But it won't turn over, or even try to turn over. Any suggestions? thanks

while haveing someone hold the key in the on position(like your tring to start it) check to see if you have power going to your starter. if so check your grounds real good and get your starter tested. if not check on power on the side of the seloniod to see if you have power. with key turned over again you should have power on both sides

Pull the small wire off the starter solenoid, in the crank position, it should have juice. Does it. You'll need a test light or a volt meter to test. If yes, your problem is after that point. If no, look into your ignition switch.

I think you need to grab a test light and check for power on the wire going to the starter while having someone hold it in the crank position, if none then check for power on the small wire going to selonoid = if it has power in crank = bad selonoid..that's to say all grounds are good
