king cobra clutch

I got my KC from Summit a little over a year ago and it seems fine to me. The pedal is about the same as the crap that was in there that I replaced. I have no chatter at all, and the clutch does grip good and it is my weekend driver and I have no issues with it.
I have not compared it to any other clutch though.
I made sure everything was replaced -new frpp stock flywheel, new TO bearing, new pilot bearing, and new Ford fork. The transmission shaft the TO bearing rides on was in great shape. I still have the factory cable and quadrant. I just took my time and made sure eveything was spotless and done right (torque specs, proper dowels, bolts etc.)
Also, I'm sure they may change over the years as well. At one point I think some were made in Italy, the one I got was made in Korea.
Like I said, I can't compare it to anything, but I would like to drive one with a CF for comparison.

i wasn't applying it to the KC, like you said it's like that all the way... i hate the feeling of it. i have a new hays clutch i'm gonna put in my 95 and on my 83 i have a spec stage 3, that spec feels the best to me and it holds ANYTHING i throw at it without killing my legs. the CF i had burned up... i never cared for it but this spec has been amazing

all i know i have enough muscle in my leg to push that HAYS through 6 hours of traffic going from houston to austin huring hurricane IKE, and my leg didn't feel tired at all, maybe im just used to pressing it in traffic everyday but at least i know when it engages properly because i can feel the pressure of it and it's not like a feather as the KC is. the frpp quadrant also makes ANY clutch feel worth something. redpony88's spec stage 3 feeeeeels way better than our friends with the same clutch and stock quadrant.

Which CF did you blow up? I was chatting with a CF rep this morning, and he told me that they get progressively stronger in the different year ranges. I believe the one made for the 79-93 can only take 400 torque at the crank. The 94-95 can hold (I think) around 500, and the 96-98 can handle 600 at the crank. They are all interchangeable, so you can use anything up to 96-98. After that the design changed, and backwards compatability was lost, according to the rep. I don't know about you, but I'll never be laying down 600 torque. I think at some point, the car would get too... uncivilized for street use.

Had a KC put in 4 years (36k) ago. Well, 2 of them. 1st was factory defective, had to be returned, I think it wouldn't disengage. 2nd one squeals and chatters so much I have to work the pedal slightly when stopped and any time I'm driving next to a wall and can hear the echo. I wasn't sure if it was installer error or the clutch itself, now I'm thinking it's the KC.
The pedal feel is better than stock, and no problems w/ the grip, but my DD only has bolt-ons.
