i have a 84 gt i just put my 87 5.0 motor in it because i spun a bearing(84motor) , now it doesn't crank over by turning the ignition key so i tryed to start it by putting a screw driver across the silniod and it cranks but there is no spark at all, so i thought my ignition box was bad so i got it tested and it was still good so what do i do???

check to see if you have 12v out to the selonoid in the crank position= will need a test light to confirm this

yeah it does have 12v because my fuel pump is working and it runs off of there

Putting a screw driver on the solenoid isnt going to do any good if you dont have spark. What coil and distributor did you use?

i have a axccell and the stock distributor

i also have a msd 6a and thats all hooked up right and i double checked every thing

I think you are misunderstanding where I'm telling you to test. your fuel pump takes it's power off the always hot side of the selonoid, I'm telling you to test the small wire that triggers the selonoid that comes from the ignition switch which is only hot in crank.

ok ill test it and do you think that my neutral safety thing has any thing do do with this

^^^^^it could ,I didn't realize you were automatic, try putting car in nuetral and start it...wiggle shifter a little too while trying to start it
