1979 Capri VS Mustang

I own a 1979 Mercury Capri and I want to convert it to a 1979 ford mustang
My Capri is a v8 5.0
Question:
What are the differences between the ford and Capri in 1979?
What do i need to do to convert it?
Pictures, charts, websites, etc will really help
Thanks

hood, front clip, rear bumper cover, rear hatch and interior swap:)

keep it capri i think those look cool. i wish i could find one, but all i'm able to find are stangs. the capri stands out more and it's pretty sleeper. cause alot of people dont realize its a mustang at heart. the oly kind of conversion i support is and efi to carb swap, i dont like it when people change the car like 4 eye to aero, or in this case capri to stang.

Shouldn't need to change the rear hatch, the Capri didn't get the "bubble" hatch until 83 I believe it was. As far as the interior the 79's are also basically the same except for the Mercury badging. You would need to change the tail lights as they are different, good luck finding a un-broken set of 79 - 82 tail lights! Personally I like the Capri tails better *shrugs* Also you will need the forward piece of the front fender belt trim, reason being the Capri side marker light is part of that trim where the side marker on the Mustang is in the front bumper cover, just look at mjr46 sig picture on his white car and you can see what I mean.

I see it as 2 options-

1: Trade it to somebody for their mustang so they will appreciate for being a Capri.

2: sell it to somebody and buy a mustang.

I'm serious... I can't take another thread like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you freakin' want a Mustang, SELL THE CAPRI AND BUY ONE!!!

I will never understand why people want to change a rare car (Capri) into something that can be bought almost anywhere. (Mustang)

^^^^that's what I was thinking:)

same here. i love the capri, if i could get my hands on one i would take that over my 83, while i LOVE my 83... the capri is cool to me and i've only seen ONE on the road around where i live so it's pretty rare to see them. do NOT change the car!!!! trade it or sell it..... and just BUY a mustang which is simple to come by

hey no need to freak out on me people
I did not know that the capri was a rare car, I just thought that saying I drive a mustang was better than saying i drive a capri. It was just a random thought and I wanted to know how hard it was to do. I will not change it to a mustang, now that i know the capri is rare.
