Default Exhaust mix/match?

Right now i have flowmasters going out to those nice long shiny tips on my LX. I love the look but i want to get SLP's and make it obnoxious, but i hate the tips that come with the SLP kit. I was looking at the pictures of the exhaust and i see that right after the pipes go over the axle there is a clamp. Will i be able to clamp up the flowmaster tips to the SLP mid pipes?

yeah as long as it's all 2 1/2 you'll be fine.. not sure if their will be a difference in sound because i know that slp's tips are double walled... post a sound clip when it's done

Based on how Flowmaster mufflers look vs the SLP mufflers im gonna say no way you'll be able to just throw the mufflers in and have everything line up. Could you make it work? Of course, will it bolt right up, I have my doubts.

Edit: are you talking about a clamp before the axle or behind it? I know my flows camped before the axle.

When you buy the SLP's does it ONLY come with the entire kit with the tips and mufflers? Cause ATM I have flows and want SLP's, but I dont want tips since i have turndowns right after the muffler. Anyone know where to just get the muffler?

I know the SLP kits have more clamps than my Flowmaster kit did, my Flow kit was only 2 pieces per side.

Well instead of clamps you can weld them on. Use the slp's until after the axle and then weld in the chrome tips. Not that hard to do.

The welder i have will burn right through the metal. Its too strong for something that thin haha. I was thinking just take the tail pipes off since they have clamps in front of the axle and the SLP kit has them behind it, and hack it up with a saw zaw and make it line up and clamp it up. Think that might work?

if thats the case why dont you just buy the slp mufflers and install them in place of the flowmasters. there like 200 bucks on ebay new and around here the local shop charges like 15 buck a muffler to install so u will have like 260 or so after shipping and tax.
