Flushing the block
hey guys, i got another question
how might i go about flushing the coolant out of the block, its still orange? should i just drain the read, undo the lower hose and spin the water pump? |
nope, splice into the heater hose or make a connection of such and buy prestones flush and fill kit and use your garden hose:)
|
wont hose water make it rust more?
but either way, i can do it when i put the intake back on? okay cool |
the flush kit will flush all the crap out, once water comes out clear...then shut car off, hook all hoses back up then drain radiator and fill radiator back up with straight coolant since pure water is in the block and then cycle / bleed cooling system, once two mix there will be a complete mixture 50/50 in the cooling system:)

here is what I'm refering too:)

|
haha I unfastened the return line to the radiator and ran a hose at the radiator cap and didnt stop till the water came out clean
|
that work too:)^^^^^^

Drain out the water. Problem is alot of water remains in the block. You can then fill the system up with distilled water. It's less than $1 a gallon. Fill and drain. Repeat if you can handle the $$. Now look up your cooling system's capacity. If it's 16 quarts. Make sure to pour at least half of that. If it drank the 8 quarts and it's still down. Top off with distilled water. |
there is a plug by the motor mount on the block if removed will drain the block completely and if you do that make sure you get the hell out of the way fast cause it's like a cow pissing on a flat rock.
