Default Block

Im looking for a good block. Something aftermarket, that will handle just gobs and gobs of power. Im looking for it to be a 351 style engine. I was looking at the Man 'O War Blocks, and that seemed like a good block, and I've heard great things about it. Theres some things that I can't seem to find though. Whats the biggest inch I can run those blocks? Anyone have any other suggestions on what kind of block to go with? I plan on running a large amount of boost, any good suggestions on internals also? It may seem like a dumb(or noob) question, but I've done a good amount of looking around, and all the info is the same. Looking for some people with some experience to get some opinions. I am willing to spend good money on a good block, so any suggestions will work. Thanks.

Dart sportsman block will handle more than your thinking of making. As for inches 454+ inches. Understand a short block of this magnatude will be around 5000-6000 just for the block, crank, rods, pistons, rings and bearings assembled. This is assuming nothing exotic, such as a 900 dollar set of custom pistons. 4.125 bore, 4.155 bore, 4.185 bore, many crank strokes to choose from as well.

um well, im thinking of making as much as possible. How much can they handle? Im willing to spend as much as it takes. Dart sportsman, I'll have to look into it. I will be assembling it myself. Is it better to buy an assembled short block? Or to buy a bare block and put whatever internals in it?

They will go 1300+hp no problem. No offense, but you cant build a motor of this magnatude, I gather that from your questions. ANYONE can bolt stuff together, but do you know what you are measuring, what it IS supposed top measure etc.. This is not a first timers type of engine build. A 1300+hp engine is not something to take a stab at. Now if you know what you are doing, you wouldn't be asking these questions. Again, take no offense but you can very easily and very quickly, get in over your head and end up 3000 dollars damage in 20 seconds.

Bare alum block will start at 4000 just for the block. And building an aluminum based engine is completely different from an iron block. Are you in chicago?

Ive built plenty of engines, but most used stock blocks. Thus why I dont know much about the aftermarket blocks.
