do NOT swap a carb to efi.... carb's make better power. no matter what intake you get for efi it can't perform as well as a single plane carb intake. i pulled the motor out of my old 88 along with the suspension, tranny and rear diff and threw all of it in my new 83 and put a carb ontop of it and it would have RAPED my 88 hands Down
as for goin with a 331, 331FTW!! i love mine in my 83

Swapping a carb to EFI requires some type of computer, different distributor, intake manifold, fuel rails and injectors (or throttle body type EFI) computer sensors like a MAP or MAF, various computer sensors and the places needed to plug them in, eletronic fuel pump, etc. I swapped a carb'ed Chevy 350 to a MPFI system. Bought a complete system at affordable fuel injection.com online and although was pretty reliable and easier to start, didn't perform any better. Cost me like $1700 or so too.
