Default solid or hyd roller in 347?

how would a solid roller setup perform on an everyday 347 street car. looks like more hp and get higher revs out of it. also hear its a pain because you have to adjust the lash all the time and this and that. would i be better off with hyd roller? going to be ordering a cam from jay allen soon just dont know if i should go solid or hydr. what would be including in converting to solid?

solid rollers run higher spring pressures and proper hardware would be needed such as locks and retainers, along with solid lifters and the cam......if it is going to mainly be a street machine I'd use a hydraulic roller but there is a in between known as a "tight lash solid roller...tell your cam grinder your intended goal and use for car and he most likely will advise you accordingly

A Tight Lash Solid Roller (TLSR) cam is not for "first time users" of SR cams only..... LOL ... look at it as the "more" street friendly SR cam setup, capable of defining some real performance, and only calibrate it every 9-12 months or so. Are they better than a HR cam?.........yep.

do you want a car you can drive or a car you'll be messing with all the time? Unless you're building a strip only car, I'd stick with the hydraulic roller (especially since you say you're building a everyday 347 street car).

However, if you have all the components for the solid roller (lifters and such) then go that way. I'd personally go the hydraulic roller route especially if I was reusing the hydraulic roller lifters...
