1979 Mercury Capri Vacuum Lines
Hi, I own a 1979 Mercury Capri, and I wanted to clean up the engine, and try and get rid of some vacuum lines. I took my car into autozone, and one of the guy came out and looked at it. He said I could remove the smog pump, and get rid of most of the lines shown here:
and here (same pic different angle)
I played around and tried removing a line. I removed one end, started the car and everything was fine. I removed the 2nd end (the tube split up so it had 3 ends) and everything was fine. Finally I removed the end that went to the carb, and my car would not start. It would crank but not start, to start it I would have to feather the throttle, and even then it would die once I let off the gas.
Question:
What vaccum lines can I remove?
How do I know what Lines I can remove?

kinda quiet heh? Im gonna be doing some bay cleaning stuff to this winter. might want to get a hold of a vacuum diagram first and see what you need to keep. instead of just dumb luck plucking. not trying to be rude but messing with vacuum can really hinder performance and MPG's
here is a guide im gonna be modeling my work after. not tat it will be anything like this tho......
