Default fixed gas gauge problem!!!

well i finally got a chance to tinker with my fox now that im home , right before i left i noticed that my gas gauge would fluctuate like a s o b . so i get underneath the car and i discover that the cars fuel pressure line is punctured and the guy tried to fix it with a clamp and some rub hose. he only had one clamp. so i clamped off both sides and walla , gas guage works like a champ ( well as good as a stock fox gas gauge would work ) now i gotta fix my water temp guage .! how can i tell if my water pump is working correctly?? im new at this whole fox thing. well thanks alot fox body masters!! good to see you guys again!!!

FYI a fuel line being punctured will have 0 effect or correlation an inoperative fuel gauge...you may have bumped a wire in process of the repair...either way it works now...........and the water pump operation will have 0 corelation on a inoperative water temp gauge..the two systems are seperate and operate independant of one another.........but try replacing the sending unit on the left front corner of the intake to the left of the distributor

Freakin Haynes manual leaves much to be desired. The part about the temp sending unit is good on diagnostic, but the photo of the location of the sensor is taken from like an inch away, and I spent about 40 minutes looking all over the place for the damned thing, until I had the good sense to post a SOS to you guys for help.

The Chilton's book I used to have was twice as good as the Hayes one. Now where the hell did I put that thing?!
