Default Holley Red Pump Noisy

I just installed a Holley Red on my car. It is mounted in front of my tank with a custom bracket. I am just wondering if they are normally this noisy? I can hear it over the exhaust and its not a quiet exhaust.

Is there anyway to quieten them down any?

its perfectly normal. mine is mounted on the back side of my tank between my spare tire well amd the bumper and i could always hear it over my exhaust. i remember when i first installed it i turned the key and quickly turned it back off. i didnt know if it was broken or not because of how freaking loud it was

red, blue and black are all noisey, but if your car is loud enough like mine it's not so bad

Yeah its only noticeable @ idle. Driving down the road I really don't hear it until I come to a stop. Hell I don't think I can make my car much louder besides running open headers.

Try putting a piece of rubber betwen the bracket and the frame.

That's why I prefer the Mallory Comp 110 and 140 pumps for carb set-ups.

All Holleys are loud. I switched to a Carter and it's not nearly as loud. I also only got a year out of my Holley blue pumps (daily driver). I went through 2 blue pumps in 2 years, before switching to a Carter. No problem with the Carter so far after 14 months.

Yeah I have heard they don't last long unless you mount them lower than the tank.

If mine goes within a year I'm definately replacing it with something quieter.
