Default throttle body question

im in the process of changing my valve cover gaskets so i opened up the throttle body and noticed how it was full of gunk .
i have a few questions on the throtle body it self .
1. if i bypass the coolant will there be any effect on the car?
2. is it a good idea to swap out the old egr and the other emission thing since they are full of gunk?

For the coolant lines do not bypass them if the egr is running. As for replacing them I dont think it matters. A good cleaning wouldnt hurt if you have to run them. If not junk them.

The coolant lines dont affect the egr. They affect the intake charge. If you have hot exhaust gases coming into the intake the coolant is cooler than the gases, but if you dont have gases coming in the coolant is hotter than the intake charge and hot air kills your Hp and Tq.

yes you will lose power if the egr is running. If it is not your hurting yourself. If you are unsure as to whether or not the egr is disconnected leave it plugged in.
