Default GT40 Heads

Are all GT40 Heads GT40 "P" heads? I know the ones on the Explorer's and the ones that Ford Racing sells are GT40 "P" heads. Are the cobra GT40 heads a GT40 "P" or not? Would the explorer heads and intake be a good upgrade on my 94 GT?

explorer heads and intake would be a good budget upgrade....all 97.5 and up explorers and mountaineers came with p heads and require specific headers where as the standard gt-40 heads don't that came on cobras and gen 1 lightnenings and 97 and below 5.0 explorers

"P" heads are stock heads, ford racing sells the gt-40x heads, though recently i have found that ford racing has a limited supply of the "P" heads still around.
yes, any gt-40 will make for a nice cheap way to get more power out of your 5.0
i dont know why ford couldnt just put all those cobra motors in the 94-95's and make the cobra the 5.8...... would have been nice to have some power stock instead of them all going to explorers....

The 5.8 would have made a nice cobra setup. Have you ever heard of the super stallion? A nice seup but with the 5.4 instead of the 5.8.
