yes i used some type of thread sealer with teflon. and i coated the hell out of it. The first time i just coated about1/3-1/2 of the threads and the last time i coated all the threads.

WHat type of sealant do u use mjr?

And Joel i'll have too look for one of those, they won't hurt the block? how do you use it? i heard long ways down the block, is that right?

I have one I use anytime I do a HG repair work, and a new one "standing by"..... no, they do not hurt the block. It allows to better the surface finish on the block (or head) surface for the use of regular or metal head gaskets and ensure surface straightness since the stone length is bigger than the block/head width.... + you have different grit sides..... coarse and fine.
