new to me notchback

Default new to me notchback

well its been tooled on and now i have to figure out whats right and whats wrong but the catch is i dont know ford well so hmmm? its a 93 302 man. goes great but once warm has hot start like batt is dead i assumed heat soak from headers so i wrapped starter and header and nothing supposedly engine shop says its the compression i figure timing but are there any stock components that it might be no msd box either any input would help as i am very new to ford but one ride and had to own it thank you

you could have high resistance in a cable going down to the starter or a bad connection, high resistance in the starter windings or starter cable will only get worse which is amplified by underhood temps, it could be as simple as a bad starter.......my 347 set up in my 85 did such but was compression related so I converted to a high torqur mini -starter= prob solved........also check the timing, make sure base timing is between 10-14 degrees btdc.......overly advanced or retarded timing can cause cranking issues too.

mjr46 gave you some good advice, I'll just add to that and tell you to check where the ground cable bolts to the block and the cable itself. It's the most neglected part on the entire car.

if that dont work you can get a start retard box.and leave your aggressive timing if it runs better for you.

all set was timing and batt is in trunk grounded to body and nothing to frame solid motor mounts but new ground helped thank you all its great on here glad theres still people willing to help others happy thanksgiving
