no, it turns off when the key is not in the crank position and the starter just keeps cranking.

i tried the test you mentioned with a vom meter and a multi meter and couldn't get a reading of either.

it was set to dc voltage scale right?

I had it set to DC. This has to be the most annoying thing thats happened to my car. I can't even run any ****en codes b/c of this. Well looks like i need to just start replacing stuff like starter, ignition switch. Anything else it could be. Thanks for the help.
