Rear seal leak question

o thats awesome, I need to do one in a couple weeks and was kinda scared of unbolting the mains. sorry I wasn't tryin to thread jack and thanks for the pic.

You have to give the customer the option because you have the price of the seal and the labor to change it. When you own the business you have to charge for it because you have to pay the technician that working on the car and the parts store for the seal. You also have to back up that little peice of work as well. You don't stay in business giving stuff away.

It is my understanding that a transmission shop that did the work. If the rear main started leaking it's just unfortunate but not the blame of the shop that did the trans work.

personally I encorage any customer the swap out the rear main seal any time the engine is out or the trans is out. If it's not leaking in most cases they don't want to do it then I don't do it. It's good honest business. You don't do work the customer doesnt OK 100%. You note it on the RO and move on.
