Rear seal leak question

o thats awesome, I need to do one in a couple weeks and was kinda scared of unbolting the mains. sorry I wasn't tryin to thread jack and thanks for the pic.

My dad is a mechanic and every time has ever has a trans out I have seen him do a rearmain seal. It just makes sense while you are in their to replace it. If this was any kind of shop they would have suggested this or went ahead and included it in the price of the trans job. Would it not makes sense to put this $15 dollar seal in while you are in there and save the customer money in the long run.
It is my understanding that a transmission shop that did the work. If the rear main started leaking it's just unfortunate but not the blame of the shop that did the trans work.
personally I encorage any customer the swap out the rear main seal any time the engine is out or the trans is out. If it's not leaking in most cases they don't want to do it then I don't do it. It's good honest business. You don't do work the customer doesnt OK 100%. You note it on the RO and move on.
