Default Need Help - Gears For Rear End

Hey I posted a thread here a while back and you all convinced me to just rebuild the 8.8 instead of going with a 9 inch I need a rear end that will handle about 600BHP. Was just wondering what all i am going to need (gears, axles, etc) and maybe some links or specific brand name reccomendations :P ANything is appreciated. Ive decided on the ford racing 4" ALU drive shaft, if this is a bad choice or if there is something better also pls LMK

correction* the ford racing 3.73 gears: http://www.mustangtuning.com/fopege3ra1.html
will handle 500-600HP? And how much horse would be safe w/ 31 spline axles. I would need something like this:
to use the 31 spline axles right? http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...rtKeyField=225

also what axles do you guys reccomend?

thanks

if ur making that much horses why not just got 4.11 with some 31-35 spline axels, ur gonna want to replace your U-joints too possibly your driveshaft, tranny..put it this way everything from motor back on the drive train needs to be updated from stock to hold the new torque. the car is engineered for X amount of torque when u add some things are bound to go wrong

Because 4.11 are not an opton for Ford rears. 4.10, yes. And he wants 3.73's so let the guy gets what he wants. And FYI, these cars have huge rears. The torque capacity far exceeds the torque these motors have stock. So he should be fine.

hrmm thats good to know so what i have picked out will work great then. Good to be reassured Im not going for anything close to an 8 LOL. Mid 12s would suit me fine. How many horses would i have to be pushing for mid 12s on street radials?
