The car will be much more fun on a conservative build if it's a daily driver and will last a longer as well.

Portmaster is offering lots of wisdom. I would suggest that you listen to what he is saying.
If you have the money, you can build a gazillion horsepower into this engine, but if you do it will be at the expense of low speed torque making it less than fun to drive.
Horsepower is nothing but a calculated number, not a measured unit. It is a calculation which is increased by higher torque or higher RPM. The developed amount of torque will be about the same, but it's a matter of what RPM you build that torque peak at. If you build the torque peak at a very high RPM you will have a very high calculated horsepowere number and be able to win lots of races. If OTOH you build a more conservative engine with your torque peak at a lower RPM you will have a car that is much more fun to drive.

I agree with make a decision and stick to it.
#1 WHAT DO YOU WANT
Mine is a 342, standard bore block (347 - .030 over) mine makes 408 RWHP on 93 octane. 11.30s @ 126 on radials, deep 10s on slicks

P.S.--don't forget WHAT DO YOU WANT!

I agree with this guys post 100%. Do what you want or can afford to do and dam anyone else if they belittle you for your accomplishments. I spent a ton of money on my 347 build. I built the entire car all at the same time so it's really hard to say where all the money actually went to specifically, but my point is that I built my car for me and me only. I won't give two $hits if it runs a 15.50 E.T. My car is a blast to drive on the street. I will find out next weekend what she will run in the 1/4, I got a race the first weekend in December in Belle Rose, LA.

I'm doing the same building process right now. I'm ordering a crate though since i have the money right now but not the time. Mines supposed to have about 500-525 since its all forged and a solid cam. BUT now I'm having to spend another 3 g's on a TKO 600. So like the other guys were saying build it to suit your needs.
