lets talk swaps

im going to look at a 4cyl hatch tomorrow and already i have big plans for it

it is a 90 but im going to swap the front end to a 85/86 style with a cowl hood, bike tires up front and fatties out back. im looking for a moderate 350-400whp leaning more towards the 400. the car is already and auto and im gunna keep it that way b/c it will b a track car until my 03 gets paid off. idk if i should build up a c4, 5, or 6, can u guys fill me in on each., now for the motor im still unsure if i want to do a h/c/i 302 with a wet shot, a turbo'd 302 or a 347 with a small shot, discuss and educate me. on the turbo set up should it be a twin or single setup and what trim turbos would i need for each

basically i want to build a cheap drag car that i can have fun with every other weekend but still b streetable so that i can drive it to car meets. im also doing it all right with plenty of safety. full cage, prolly gut the car and if n20 is added all safety equip under hood and in car, turbo car all the safety to keep the turbo from blowing up

if im missing nething let me know and my rant is now over :)

The best thing you can do is find a V8 car. With the 4cyl car you will need to change the engine, trans, and rear end. If you wanna go fuel injected you will need the wiring harness and computer. If you like the 86 style front end you might as well go ahead and buy a the older with the front end you like. It is way cheaper to start out with a V8 car.

it is def going to b fuel injected. i like the 86 style front end but i hate the interior original 4cyl car is cheaper insurance when i go to insure it. i might also get a 5lug swap but now sure yet what is the HP ratting on a foxbody gt rear end?

Dont worry about the 4 lug it can take you to the promise land. just get decent axels and a locker. i would go 347 and a wet shot. but you'll need the 8.8 rear end and go with a built c4. a good n20 cam matched to a custom converter and your in buisness. oh and dont skimp on heads and intake spend the money once........

sorry i was all over the place in that reply.

i think i just found what i wanted to do. for those of u who have seen the jan 09 issue of MM&FF there is a budget turbo kit from B&G customs comes with t70 turbo all the hot and cold piping the only thing u need is the fuel components. i can also fabricate a single turbo setup myself for cheaper then that so i think that turbo is the way im going, any opinions?
