Factory appearing headers
#11
you could get the ford racing headers in stainless, they'd rust and look just as ****ty as the stock ones. Unless your entering your car in show where it has to be 100% original, i don't see the point. You could do full exhaust and nobody could really tell. Hell, i just put on a Explorer(same as cobra) intake on my car and put the 5.0 plat on it. I bet some whouldn't notice.

yep some rusty shorty headers would look as close to factory as you could get, my FRPP shorties look pretty factory but like someone mentioned you're not gonna find headers all pinched up n **** like the stock ones. Why do you care so much about keeping the car looking stock though?

um...yeah, why do you want to keep the engine stock looking? I mean, close to stock, yeah, but bone stock?
like camaroeater said, the cobra/explorer intake is pritty close to the stock 5.0 intake as far as looks go...just slap the 5.0 plate ontop.
I don't really understand the whole being unique by looking stock. and sounding stock? Whats the point in putting any kind of horse power if your not going to hear it?
But then again, its not my car. hope you can get all that porting done.

To bad it wasn't carbed, you could leave the factory air cleaner on, and I would basicly cover the entire engine bay lol . Good idea's being thrown out there, like gt40s with the bars machined off and ported out like F. Some unequal length shorties weathered and slapped on . Good stealth idea's boys! I kinda get the idea he's going with. Like a stock looking car, but it runs quicker than your average stock 50 and is almost impossible to tell the mods by a quick look/sound. Good luck on the build, and have fun with it!
