Default I need to find parts and solutions for problems! I need HELP!!!!!!!

Well, first off, my engine has an issues with idle. After I tach really high RPMs for even the slightest bit, it sounds like it's being starved of fuel ro air, and then revs up itself then falls on it's face again. Now a quick tap of the throttle, maybe two and it usually levels out. What is the issue here? I sure as hell can't figure it out, and I know there is some very knowledgable guys here that know their ****!!!

Anyway, my second issue is my transmission is fixin to take crap on my and I need to find a used on before this flies apart. I'll get my current one rebuilt, but I need something to keep the Stang going cause that is my main mode of transportation for now. Can someone help me out?

craigslist is your best bet for cheap tranny to temp replace. that or a junk yard.

as for your first issue....i dont really understand your description. so you rev your engine or you take it up to 5.5K rpms and it knocks? try to describe the sound it makes when you think its starving for fuel. as for the hunting idle just try to clean your MAF w/ MAF cleaner. verify your timing, check tps volt and set base idle. hopefully that clears it up.

yeah, clean your MAF and check your tps...I don't know that the timing would make it do that...but you never know, but I'd check that last.

Default A better description...

It doesn't knock at all, it just doesn't want to keep an ldle after the motor runs at high RPMs. Example... I just did a burnout, and I let off the gas and press the clutch, the RPMs come back down as normal, but don't stay normal. It starts to cut out and want to die, then if it does keep going, it revs high, then tries to cut out. No knocking, it just sounds like someones in the car pressing on the throttle and no one really is. You have to tap throttle one or two times, then it levels out. Do ya get it now? I hope I explained it better this time. If not I'll just have to video tape it and put it on my profile so you can see just how it's acting.
