ya thats how i have done it before ...just wondering if it was necessary since you said just drop the crossmember

If it's a manual I will seperate the trans from the bell housing. It's only four more bolts and comes out easy. It's faster for me. Now beacuse I have a lift in my home garage On auto cars I'll remove the cross member, take a 3 foot extension and impact and spin all the bolts right out of the bell housing and leave the trans on a trans jack then yank the motor. If I had to do it on the ground on the auto I'll pull them both together. On the manual I'd still seperate the tranny from the bell housing.

reason i said that was, its less bolts to do that than removing the bolts for the bellhousing
