Question another question for fellow techs

buddy of mine just bought a 95 talon tsi two days ago. immediately we noticed a wiring issue, the battery, low coolant, and brake light would half-illuminate randomly, then randomly shut off again, probably from a bump in the road. by half illuminate, i mean the lights brightness was half of normal. if you pulled the ebrake up while this was happening, the light got immensely brighter.
ok, now last night on his way home, the car died on the highway. headlights flickered, dash flickered, car died. hit a bump, car powered back on.
today, the 4way flashers do not illuminate and flash the turn signals, but instead cause the right brake light to go solid, and the headlight switch causes the right side turn signals to go solid.

loose battery connection was found to not be the problem, also for those that might suggest a lemon law, it was an interstate purchase, therefore no protection laws against this kind of mishap.

i was leaning towards a bad cluster ground with the illumination issues with the dash, then the car dying sent me towards the ignition switch, but the headlight/hazard issue has once again sidetracked my diag.

HALP!

I would focus on the car dying, it may have a bad ignition switch, I have seen similar instances/symptoms before lead to the problem, but there could be more than one prob........make sure the alternator is good and that it is not back feeding any a/c ripple current into the system........you'll need wiring diagrams to see where the common junction is for turning all the warning lights on that'll help lead you to where a prob could be
