well finally decided to put a cam in my car im still running that 93 cobra manifold on there....i know i have to upgrade springs im in the process of taking the motor out im ganna go .30 over do i need to notch the pistons for this cam. thanx for your help guys

most likely not but the most important thing is to check for ptv and properly set valvetrain up by measuring for the proper length push rod if you are going to use roller rockers..most likely if the block and heads have not been decked and you are using pedastal mount rockers then stock length will often be sufficient

kinda wanna do this on a budget i know lol you get wat you pay for im still using my stock rockers is that ok or do i need to buy i set also im ganna have some one do the block for me and the heads and all so ill let them put the cam and check for clearances

I like the XE274HR. Nice street cam. Has a nice power range for street use

I doubt you will have any issues with Piston/Valve clearance but it's easy to check and something you want to know before you fire that bad boy up.

yea thats true right now i have a stock cam im preatty sure ill wake it up with that cam car does good right now but i need it to pull a little more up top and maybe put a 100shot of nitrous im ganna get the bottom end freshend up wat kinda pistons should i get i was thinking of srp ross i want some thing good i was going towards fe but i heard they make noise at the beggining like on a cold start or some thing like that any suggestions or advice would be appreciated thanx guys

JE/SRP are good pistons. While forged pistons are a little more loose due to the need for expansion I doubt you hear them like you did in the older vehicles. Piston technology has come a long way. Look at it like this. when was the last time you heard a 87-92 Mustang with a cold start up knock

thats true bro very true thats was i was thinking putting in some srp or je pistons fresh up the bottom end. re build the heads with the proper springs i need for the head. can i keep my stock rockers or do i need to get some ...

I'm not sure if the slot in the rockers are long enough for that cam. The factory rockers are the first thing to hit the trash when I do a cam swap. With factory rockers when you get right down to it and while they say they are 1.6 ratio the truth is they arn't very accurate. There may be one thats a 1.55 and another 1.62 and every now and then you may hit on one thats 1.6, Some of the guys who run classes where they have to use a stock rocker set up will buy a hundred of them, find the closest and highest lift 16 then return the rest.

Some of these other guys who run them may be able to tell you. I'm not 100% sure. I'd check the slot in a mock up
