is there a difference in piston size for a 306 vs 302?

well
302=4.00 bore
306=4.030 bore
so yes pistons are different.

yes .030 over stock which is 4.000 so 306 = 4.030

no the pistons are .030 to small. You need 4.030 pistons and rings.

you can probably buy rings to do that but it won't last as long nor would you be able to put any real power to it.
