Default clutch cable

I'm about to finalize my auto to manual conversion, but my clutch cable doesnt seem to be long enough. It's an oem replacement ford cable going into an 89 hatch with a wc t5 and a bbk quadrant. any ideas?

you will need an aftermarket ajustable cable is you have an aftermarket quadrant. any cable will do, just do NOT USE A FIREWALL AJUSTER. they have a serious design flaw that destroys cables.

sorry for the generalization, but i am not wrong as far as the brands i have used. i have not used a MM quad so i wouldnt know. i have a bbk quadrant in my car thats perfect except u cant use a stock cable and a zoom quadrant on a friends car that also cannot use the stock cable

my bbk quadrant and cable are perfect. the only reason it failed was due to the stupid firewall ajuster. i got rid of the ajuster and put a new cable and its been working great ever since

O.K. I have just been through the mess with cables. DO NOT use and adjustable cable unless it is an MM cable. All others are junk. The last one I had lasted 2000 miles. Soo I finally did what most said to do. I went back with an OEM cable, UPR firewall adjuster, and UPR triple hook quadrant. Everyone recommending going back to an OEM cable. That is the way to go. Pedal effort dropped dramatically and it works with no issues. The other problem is price. MM adjustable can be bought for approx. $70...if you shop American Muscle.com here on this website, they will give you a discount on that cable. The OEM cable runs as much as $120 at a dealer, but I found mine at another Mustang website for $49.99. Shop and you will find the deals....

i get the ford racing quadrant and cable. it runs me a big 80 bucks. it's about 100 for non employees.
never again will i use a stock pos cable. hell no, this setup is WAY smoother than the stock cables i've had. some people swear by it, but i swear against the stock cable personally
