gt40p heads combo help!!
hey guys..
can you please help me.. here is what i'm about to do..
i have an 89 mustang with .30 over.. complete exhaust .. AOD tranny.. MSD coil and box.. runs good but i want to upgrade a little..
have a set of gt40p heads (already got headers) with new stock valve springs and keepers.. new ARP head bolts..a lower and upper intake of 98 mountaneir... that i want to install.. some of my friends told me install a e-303 cam since i'm going to have it open.. well if i do that.. i'm going to upgrade my converter to a 2500 stall .. or can i still run the stock converter??? does anybody have this set up already and can tell me anything about it.. ?
i also understand i have to buy an elbow in to install my new intake... because i can't use my old one.. since the old one has a smaller throttle body..
please help me get mys set up right...
please tell me what i need to get to do it right..
thanks in advance

you dont necessairly have to change the cam you can opt for setting up to 1.7 rr which will help out. id definately suggest getting a bigger stall if you go with the e cam a buddy of mine had an ecam in his t-bird with an auto and it would die a lot at stops...

thank you!!
do you have any in mind.. something (part #) that you all have used and work good?? by doing rockers 1.7 what is the improvement?? do you get the pedestal type..?? i want to apologize for so many questions.. i work on cars everyday.. but i'm not really into performance and putting combos together as you can tell....
i'm just trying to make my car a little stronger... any other advices i would really appreciate you all guys... thanks for the help..

Personally, as long as you are going this far, I would swap the cam out while it's apart. You can also find a better cam than the E cam (TFS stage 1 or Comp Cams), but that's your decision. If you do decide to change the cam, do yourself a favor and install the matching springs, you'll be glad you did. With the E cam, I'd go with a 2500 stall converter.
