T-5 rebuild kit

whoa, chill man. i wasnt trying to be offensive i guess i was just trying to make sure you werent implying something else other than is it worth rebuilding a T5.
and thats a double edge sword question. is it worth it? eh kind of. its not rated to withstand the abuse of even a stock 5.0 if you arent nice to it. you cant powershift all the time and expect to get away with it. it will explode. but you can speed shift it and as long as you arent pushing too much TQ through it and you dont F up a shift it should last you a long time. i just rebuilt mine and it drive like a brand new transmission. so its worth it to me. but if its within your budget and you plan on racing or abusing yoru car a lot you may want to look at upgrading to a 3550, tko or v-spec t-56. so it depends on your wants and needs as far as it being "worth it"
the T-5 weighs 75lbs without fluids

yes, but you'll have to set up your countershaft in the case with a dial dicator and shims to set it up properly. the main shaft just follows and there isnt really anything you need to check for the other than the tailshaft when you get it all back together. and make sure you upgrade your retainer ring. i've seen some carnage in my last post about the retainer ring...its ugly, i should have done mine.
