i have a short shifter in my '91 gt. how do i adjust the stop screws?

sounds like your throwout bearing and clutch fork are at fault here... get under the car and open up the clutch fork cover. have someone else press down on the pedal... check everything, inspect all your parts... it soulds to me like you messed up the install somehow... the clutch fork could have come off the pivot ball
