I have a 95 Mustang Cobra
It will fire every now and then. I bought a spark tester and its very intermittent.
I've changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, coil, ignition control module.
I bought an Ignition Pickup. I started taking the distributer apart but can't get to it. There is a plate on top of the shaft that has to come off. I don't know how to take it off. I can see the pickup and it goes around the shaft.

How do I get to it?

By the way I searched and couldn't find the answer to my question.

i am almost postive it xhould just pop of i dont think anyhting holds it in except for the manufacturer glue if it dont just pop of look to the left side of the shaft and it will be a torx to get it out let me no couse u have me wondering know

I had to pull the distributer out and pull the gear off the bottom and the shaft comes out through the top.
The ignition pickup fixed my problem. Runs like a top now.
