Let me clear this up for you guys.. YES the hood will allow more air flow through the engine which is good for better running temperatures and so on, good for maybe 2HP.. NO it will not increase 25% H.P. which would bu over 50HP from a hood?? Get real! 3 Seconds in the 1/4 mile!? NO NO NO, definately not.. I think that claim may have been 3 10th's in the 1/4 which is more likely, but it would only come from the weight savings, not the airflow, and a 3MPH increase is a total lie.. Dont know where you read these claims, but they are all false.. What you WILL notice from your hood is looks, that's about it.. The only reason I let you know is so that you are not dissappointed with the power gains, which there will be none.

I am getting the Cobra R hood with SVO Scoop, now that's a hot hood!

91hatchgt--I'm only telling you what I read on the paper right in front of me that I printed out off of https:www.cervinis.com/shop/product.asp?id=142 . I never said that I believed what it said. IF your right then I would consider it false advertising wouldn't you?

The ram air hoods are mostly for looks, They do come with a bit of horsepower but mostly it keeps you engine running a lil cooler and sheds a few pounds off you baby. Ill Pay $300 for a hood and only get about 4-6 HP but the car will look awsome.

You will mostly get minor gains at high speeds. The faster you are going, the more air can be "rammed" into your hood/intake. I don't know about the whole 25% thing. Believe me, I think we all have seen the ads that promise huge hp gains and end up dissapointed with the results. Like the cold air intake kit that supposedly can give you up to 20hp on a stock engine [sm=bs.gif], 25% more hp from the venom 400 performance module [sm=bs.gif], the x-pipe good for 25hp [sm=bs.gif]. I know you didn't say that you believe the ad, but you know where I'm going with this. Just dont get your hopes too high. I have a buddy who put a ram air kit on his mustang and DID notice a little difference, but only when he's flying down the freeway at high speeds. It will DEFINATELY look bad @$$ though!! Show pics when it's done!

You DEFINITLY have a point,sick95gt[sm=exactly.gif] I just wanted to make sure no one thought that I was making those numbers up. I did screw up when I said that the ad said you could get another 3 seconds off the 1/4 mile. I meant to say 0.3 seconds off the 1/4 mile. Sorry [sm=imsorry.gif]. So in your guys opinions should I get the kit or should I forget it and put some screen in the openings to make it look good? Thanxs for the help and advise guys
