Default 4cyl springs on the front? questions

So I have a 1988 GT and I wanna get it to have a nicer stance. I want it to be low in the front and stock in the back. I wanna do skinnys and fats and I think this stance will look the best with skinny and fat welds. If I put 4cyl springs on the front of my car how much will it drop it? and what are the pros and cons of the 4cyl springs

You'll get an inch or so drop. No pros or cons really. it will still ride good. I put a set in the front of my wifes vert.

damn that car looks good. it looks like the 4cyl springs are the way to go if you want a cheap drop in the front.

I agree that using a 4 cylinder front spring is better than cutting a coil off the v8
I have a question, is the free height of 4 banger springs different than v8 springs? The reason I ask is because there are much overlapping rates for 4 banger and v8 (some at the same time) for example v8 in 1980-81 had rate of 370. while 79-92 4 bangers had that rate of 370 (v8 in 1979, 1982 had rate of 395 which is close)
So could v8 springs of those years be the same part number or is the free height of the spring different....? THX

some related info:
4 cylinder springs:
1979-1992 370 lb/lb
1993 400 lb/lb

V8/handling package
1979-1984? front springs were a (various) constant rate
1984?-1993 front sprints were a (various) variable rate
1984? mixed year

IIRC, the 4 banger springs are longer then the v8 springs but because they are softer, the front drops about an inch.

exactly kinda... what I was asking is that this "softer" you mention being the spring rate: some v8 cars came with the exact same 'softness' as other years 4 cylinder cars!

example: 1980 and 1981 cars had SAME constant rate front springs of 370 #/lbs SAME for 4 banger and v8... were they the SAME spring or different length or?

This might mean that early v8 fox cars would lower the newer fox v8 cars... curious about this & dont have an early fox available to check things out
