^^^^that make no sense at all, you want to do the 331 right the first time and yet your slamming pedastal mount 1.7's on stock heads and a 331 as a base and heaven knows what cam and intake...heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!!.......and don't use pedastal mount rockers, if you want something that'll withstand future upgrade to AFR heads get stud mount rockers and for the meantime a stud conversion kit for the stock heads

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku thats prob. the cheapest you'll find or want to go for that matter. you could always look for a used set on here or other mustang forums and prob, pay half of new.

ok... wait so... what do you suggest mjr46? I can't afford the heads or intake yet... my mechanic was worried about the fitment of the stock rockers....

fitment of stock rockers..please explain his concern??? I understand you gotta do what you gotta do due to money issues, but stock rockers won't have any fitment issues on stock heads with a 331, what cam are you using for now???

No matter what type of pedestal mount rockers you get they will not be adjustable. They can be shimmed but your still left with a weak 5/16" mounting bolt.

Stock heads + 1.7 rockers = potential valve float.

Mine did at 5300+, for a whole 6-8 horsepower its not worth it. imo

According to him.... he said at this point he hasn't got everything put together but he said the labor of fitting them will cost some $ and I might be better served to just "convert" to 1.7 rocker that is adjustable making barely any labor but costing more in the parts.

Ok... if that made sense great! I only partially understand his concern so.... I'll hopefully talk to him today and get back to you guys... and mjr46 i'll try to get the cam specs today as well.... I think he was still debating on the exact cam to get.

Thanks for the help so far guys... I think i posted the question a little to early cuz I don't know a whole lot of the info...
