Unhappy Now What...

I posted a thread a few days ago about my troubles with my mustang, and how I thought I had broke my clutch cable. So I just replaced my clutch cable today, and its still acting the same way.

When I push down on the clutch pedal it makes a loud popping/ breaking noise, and then goes straight to the floor very quickly. Sometimes it'll make the breaking noise 2 or 3 times before hitting the floor. I cant put the car in gear when its on, only when its off. I can put it in gear when the clutch pedal isn't pushed in.

So I'm not sure what to do? Any help would be great.

if you are running the stock clutch quadrant you could have broken it. that maybe what all the cracking noises are. that also could explain why your clutch is not disenguaging.

my thoughts exactly.. check the quadrant under the dash over the gas pedal... heres a few pics of what to look for.

And you should replace it with an aftermarket piece, like this...

LOL, yeah not much room, remove the seat and laydown a piece of foam over the seat bolts. It makes it a little move comfortable to work on

Funny, I just put one of those on a 5.0 4 days ago.

While your under there, check your accelerator pedal cable for play as well.

If the seat has to come out, its a good idea to spray penetrating oil on the threads under the vehicle's chassis.
Please let us know what you found.
