Default Emergency Brake

My emergency brake cables were not releasing completely on the right side and it was wearing my shoes to crap. So since they were the stock cables on my 92 gt i thought i might change them because perhaps the spring isnt recoiling back or rust build up or something....so i replaced them and the same thing is happening and only on the right side...i cant really come up with any reason why this may be, i checked to be sure i didnt pinch the cable anywhere and other than that i really dont know why thatd be happening. i bought the cables aftermarket for $15 a piece especially since the dealer was asking $75 a piece. has anyone had this problem???
