Base Idle Reset and Car won't start again
I just recently finished repairing a few electrical problems and the car was not idling properly, so I did the base idle reset, adjusted my idle to about 750rpms with the IAC disconnected car running, and then I shut it off, reconnect the IAC and wait 20 seconds, then the car doesn't start. The only way I have had any luck starting it is by resetting the computer, and pumping the throttle to get it started. When I do that it starts up fine every time I shut it off, unless I attempt the base idle reset. Who knows whats happening here. All I can think of is bad IAC, but I'd hate to go buy the autozone junk if mine is fine. Thanks

the car was not running fine, it started up, and surged and when I took it for a ride, it stalled out at low revs, which is why I adjusted the idle. When I went to plug the IAC back in, after adjusting it with the iac disconnected, thats when it wouldnt start. It hasn't run in about 8 weeks before this.

setting the idle screw only sets where you want it to idle at, it wont fix surging.
check your tps voltage is between .6 and 1.01 on the green wire with key in the on position. get it started up again and verify base timing with spout out then set base idle after those things are done. if you are still having issues you need to run koeo/koer self tests to find out if you have codes and also check for vacuum leaks.
