i'VE SEEN SOME articles tell you to get a 2x4 and set it on the ground and smack the shaft up and down allowing the jarring weight and motion to drive off some of the pressed fit pieces, I tried it once, it didn't work so well so I put it in the press

Im thinking about using a bearing separator some 2x4s and a log splitter as the press.

I have used this splitter before to press out bearings with a few quick mods to the cutting blade it becomes a very effective press and it has a nice valve so you can operate the ram very accurately and slowly

Hey

I got the all stuff I wanted to replace on the output shaft replaced and back together. (1st and 2nd gear all blockers, 1&2 slider, all bearings)

My only question right now is the 3&4 sync assemble (the shift fork engages this assy and it does not have the gear on it) When I pressed it back on there was a notch in the spines like a snap ring would go there...The manual never said anything about a snap ring (and none of the snap rings I have fit) . I pressed the 3&4 slider down so this groove was just clear of the hub (so if a snap ring did go there it could have fit)

2) this is the correct depth to press the 3&4 slider right?
1) there is no snap ring here right? or is there?

Thanks

-Gun
