what years did they put that little light map up top in the front between the driver and passanger that comes down. Looks likea little flashlight. i have one in my 88 and everytime someone gets in my car they ask what the f*ck is that and i have to show them lol. Just wondering what years they put them in .

haha when i have people in my car im like interrogation!

I may be mistaken, but I do believe that the horsepower was the same except in 93 it was rated slightly less like 10 hp less, but only bc of a different way the had to rate the hp. I think...

I read somewhere that the HP ratings from 87-93 varied slightly for each year, dunno if it's true or not.

my map light doesn't work either, but the bulb aint in it... maybe that's the culprit... oh, and another thing. i'll put my 2 cents in on 87-92 having forged pistons. NOT 89-92

So what would you guys have to start with an 87-89 or the 90-93? What would you guys pick? Or are they all the same to you guys?

Same ****, different years. BUt preferably one with, mass air. But me? I like the four eye a lot better, the 87-93 headlights look too much like Taurus's...

I have the drop down map light in my 89 GT but it didn't work...nice thing is that the parts are interchangeable for 1987-1993...this is my first foxbody....I have been able to learn most of the things to do on it myself

I would only buy an '89 unless I planned on modifying it alot, or couldn't find what I was looking for. I would rather have an 87-89, but the lack of maf is a bummer. It would be among the first 5 mods.

So whats the difference in horsepower between the years?
They made quite a big jump in power in '86, then another big jump in '87. The jump in '87 added an extra 25hp & 15ft. lb. torque, putting it at 225hp 300ft. lb. torque & slowly lost power over the years. After all the changes from 87-93. All the modifications done added up to a loss of 20hp & 25ft. lbs. torque putting the '93 GT to 205hp @ 4200rpm & 275 ft. lb. @ 3000rpm. The losses were very minor things that added up to a loss. one including the restriction of switching from speed density to maf.
