How To Remove Power Steering Hoses
I'm about to replace my power steering hose fitting because it sprays out between the hose fitting and the fitting on the pump, so I assume one of the two is faulty. Is this right?
Second, how do I go about removing the hose? Do I start at the end on the rack or the end on the pump?

Okay, I got the end that connects to the pump undone, how do you get the end on the rack undone? When Replacing the fitting do you replace the hose and fittings or can you just replace the fitting? If so how do you disconnect the hose?

Heat and penetrating oil make it come out fast.
Screw start the new one BY HAND , those fine threads are very FINE , VERY EASY to strip.
While your under there, I would check and replace the rack mount to frame bushings, usually they are oil soaked and deteriorated.
Spray penetrating oil on the new hose ends, the o rings are usually dry, making the fitting hard to turn.
As you spray, use pliers to turn the fitting in full circles. This will prevent you from ending up where you were turning little by little.

Would anyone care to coach me up on pulling the rack out?
I could not get the rack side fitting to bite for the life of me tonight.
Any and all tips/advice would be very much appreciated.

2 center to frame bolts, vice grips need used to hold the nut still or a wrench.
2 tie rod end bolts, then knock the ends out with a hammer, that will give you plenty of space to move the rack at your angle, the steering shaft should be ok staying on the rack
