T-5 to AOD swap
#11
reading that again, i might have come off like a a$$hole, haha.
i know what your saying, and your right, a automatic would be better for you.
for me im not putting out serious power, and i wont be for a while, so a "built" T5 is fine for me.
and i fully understand that a $5 bearing or something might fail, and cost me time and money to take care of, but thats the risk most of us take with these cars, haha.
good luck with your build, look forward to seeing where it go's!

Now my plan is put the auto in it, and buy a posi and a spool for my 9" as I have two center sections, put something like 323's on the posi to drive it on the street, and put 410's on the spool for the track and just swap them over when I get there.
Why do the autos take a different computer than the standards anyway? As AOD's are completely mechanical, what does the computer do differently?

the AOD is mechanical like you said, and as long as the TV cable is set up right, you will have NO issues!
as far as i understand theres not much different, i know when going from auto to 5speed there can be "hanging idle" issues.
