one word, craigslist. Wait two or three weeks and watch the largest craigslist in your area in these hard time there is an amazing ammount of parts for 79-93 mustangs floating around out there. People just don't have the cash to complete their cars and need the cash. Sad to say it but their loss your gain. 400 bucks can go a long way if you can do the install yourself.

for an auto go 4.10(if you don't you'll be dissapointed later)
5sp go 3.73. thats the general rule of thumb for our cars.
both those brands are good, i myself would rather have fr than motive, they're saposidly a little more "forgiving" and easier to set up right.

I wouldnt go 4.10 if hes going to supercharge it later on id go 3.73 you will feel a difference and i have 4.10 with a 5 spd and its no problem Id go with motive gears or richmond
