Stock 95 Cam with a 90 Computer
Hey guys,
We're going to be ripping apart a 90 5.0 5spd parts car that has some GT-40 heads on it, and an unknown spec Crower cam. I am taking some of the stuff off it and will take the explorer GT-40 upper and lower as well, and replacing with stock E7 heads and a stock manifold. I was thinking of putting a stock cam back in the car, so there are no clearance issues with this unknown cam and the stock heads. I don't know what was really done to this car, and I don't know if the pistions were notched etc, and the prior owner isn't knowledgeable about its history either.
I thought I had a cam from my buddy's 92GT I could use, but the cam I found actually ended up being from a 95GT. Are there going to be any issues with using this cam with the stock 90 computer? I don't really know a lot about the SN95 cam/computer issues. I believe the cam should be fine, that it is just a sensitive computer on those 94/95's. I basically want to get it back together in stock running condition.
Does all of this make sense? Thanks for your help.

that's what i figured. I know there were slight revisions during the the latter part of the late 80's but didn't think it would matter. Thanks. Now, I just need to see what this thing actually has in it.
