Default '95 Cobra rebuild/upgrade assistance

Hey all!! Long time lurker, first time poster. I would like to get some guidance on helping me rebuild/upgrade my '95 Cobra. Bought the car used in '01 with 45K miles. Currenlty paid off (thank GOD! HA HA) and now has about 130K miles on it. I've done some minor upgrades since buying it (Flowmaster 2 chamber, BBK O/R H pipe, BBK U/D pullies, K&N system, Eibach Lowering Springs, 24# injectors). The car still has some juice to her, but I can definately tell she's starting to be a tad sluggish. I would like to pick some of your brains since I don't really have much knowledge of cars, technical things, (porting heads, etc..) I have a buddy that knows a guy that said he would rebuild my engine, but I don't even know what all that intails or what I should tell him to do. So I decided to start browsing the net looking for different mod upgrades. I have around $2-3K to spend for this project. Not really looking into the whole Nitrous/Supercharger route, as this is a DD in the nice weather months (Ohio). Don't really have any specific #'s I'd like to reach, but just want a nice looking/fast car that will get up and go when I want it to. I'll list some of the things I was thinking about doing, and maybe some of you that are "in the know" can guide me in the right direction. I'll list the parts I read about on here, and maybe you can give me some good products to look in to if you think that is the route I should go with. Thanks so much for all of your help!!! Much appreciated!!!

Welcome to the forum. I like the looks of these headers and I am going to get them for my car.

Your car came with 13'' rotors up front so for brakes I would got to Napa and order a set of ceramic brake pads, new rotors (Napa and carquest have crossdrilled and slotted rotors) or have those resufaced, and rebuilt calipers.
Also did you put 24# injectors in it? Cobra's came with 24# injectors.

hmmm what about an edelbrock top end kit, holley top end kit, or tfs top end kit can get like 350 hp out of it includes heads, cam, intake everything needed for the top end and then id do a throttle body to match the intake, then a mgw short throw shifter

I'll continue to update my first post with the ideas from you guys. Then once all the talk is about done, maybe we can narrow down the list and see what will be the best choices for me to go with.

Thanks for the replies received so far!!

ETA: I've been looking all over for the MGW shifter, and I've only seen 2 sites that even sell it ($179-199). Am I missing something with this?

If you plan on drag racing it you will want some better rear control arms, torque box reinforcement and sub frame connectors. For gears you will probably want 3.73's or 4.10's

I do not plan on drag racing this thing. It will be a daily driver in the spring/summer months.

sub frame connectors and lowercontrol arms are still good for a street car and definetly 4.10 gears if your not going to supercharge the thing

If your looking for a mild street set up just go with a 70mm throttle body, 76mm P&L mas
one of the aphabet cams, headers. 3.73 gears. Something like that would wake it up nicely. and dont forget the best free mod of them all Advance your timming to 14*

You def dont want 410s if its your driver.. Stiffen up the suspension/chassis, get some gears and you should be a little happier.

With as many miles youve put on, what kind of maint have you done to the suspension?
