New Struts? Front tires rubbing...
Hey, on my 93 GT Convertible, I have the Eibach Pro Kit Spring Set. Gives me a 1.2" drop in the front and 1.0" in the rear. I've got 17x9 Cobra R's with 245/45-17 General Altimax HP all around. Problem is with a dip in the road or a tight corner one or both front tires will rub the fenders. By myself this will almost nerver happen, but with someone else in the car it becomes very evident. Did I go wrong with the tire size or am I in need of some new shocks/struts? If it's struts, will standard do or should I invest in some adjustables? Cars stance it awesome, no tire damage, just want it fixed!

struts wouldnt effect the ride height, but when lowering the car, its always best to replace the worn out stockers as well as the shocks..my guess would be the tires are two wide, but let someone with a fox give another opinion too

I knew they would not change height, but I thought maybe new struts or adjustables might tighten up the front end to give me less compression in the dips and corners. It's a fair weather car, not to concerned about a harsh ride, just lookin' cool with my drop top down on my 5.0!

if its rubbing on the actual fender you just need to have your fenders rolled. If your just rubbing on the fender lining- then good that means you went low enough haha. That happens with a 5 lug conversion a lot. (im assuming you have 5 lug becasue you have cobra R's) struts may help if you get ones which are meant for a lowered car or an adjustable one.

I have the same set up, front tire size, rim size too. I only rub slightly on the racing road course and it's only during a heavy turn, full load onto the one side plus a dip in the curve at high speed. Meaning daily driven, never heard it rub. Autocrossed, never heard it rub. Road course, only minor rub in 1 spot on the course.
If you want to 100% fix the problem. Swith the front rims to an 8".
