looking to buy a 5.0

i'm looking to buy a 5.0, i'm hoping to pick up a decent one for 5 grand. i'm gonna have another 4 grand left over to put into it. is it worth putting 4 grand into it? what kind of horsepower do you think i could achieve with that much money, i don't know much about them cause i don't own one so.....

well I have one for 7500.00 new engine dss 306,tremec 5 speed of did I say it has a vortech S/C al it needs is tuned if interested so for 500.00 you'll be in the 10sec

i don't really need a 10 sec car....lol i want a daily driver that hadles nice and can eat some rice......is it possible to get a gt air dam and side skirts for a Lx?
